Regular Pageant Formats

There are three different levels of regular pageants: standard, advanced, and elite. Each of these pageant types will still follow the regular pageant rules, but may also have a few extra rules exclusive to that format.

Standard Pageants

Standard format pageants are your regular, everyday pageant. Anyone can host or enter a standard pageant. They are the most forgiving format, and the best type for pageant beginners to practice and learn.

  • Any BCRS-enrolled baby may enter a standard pageant.
  • Anyone may host a standard pageant.
  • A standard pageant should have eight winners. (See placement chart below for details.)
  • There is a limit of 2 each BIS and 1st placements.
  • You may judge a standard pageant once at least eight babyz have entered, but you can always wait for more if you'd prefer.
  • Standard pageants may be any theme including anything goes.
  • Stand-ins are allowed in standard pageants when you don't have an enrolled BCRS baby that is eligible for the theme.
  • It is suggested to be a bit more gentle when judging standard format pageants. You are allowed to try to place a baby from as many members who entered as possible (up to eight). However, if there is a member whose photos feature incorrect or poor posing, it is advised to not place those entries, or to keep them to HM.
  • All overall pageant rules apply as well.

Advanced Pageants

Advanced pageants are for those who may want a little more challenge in their pageant career! In an advanced pageant, poses are judged more strictly, but you can earn more points if you place.

  • Any BCRS-enrolled baby may enter an advanced pageant.
  • Only members who have had a baby reach Sapphire tier or above (4+ BIS placements) may host advanced pageants.
  • An advanced pageant should have eight winners. (See placement chart below for details.)
  • There is a limit of 1 each BIS and 1st placements.
  • No stand-ins are allowed in advanced pageants.
  • Placements should be made in order of best posing technique as described by our pageant posing guide.
  • Hosts should favor placing only the very best entries, even if that means there are multiple entered by the same person.
  • Advanced pageant themes may not request anything goes or wildcard poses. However, you can request nonstandard poses such as 0 face, squishy smile, eyeroll, etc.
  • Since there are no stand-ins allowed, advanced pageant themes may not request something a member may be ineligible for (for example, an advanced pageant shouldn't be "boys only" or "animal babyz only" unless there is a permitted alternative such as a theme-appropriate outfit).

Elite Pageants

Elite pageants are the highest and most difficult level of pageant. Pageant veterans can face off in a competition for the best of the best!

  • Only babyz who have reached Amethyst tier or above (2+ BIS placements) may enter.
  • Only members who have had a baby reach Emerald tier or above (6+ BIS placements) may host elite pageants.
  • An elite pageant should have five winners.
  • There is a limit of 1 of each placement: BIS, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, HM.
  • No stand-ins are allowed in elite pageants.
  • Placements should be made in order of best posing technique as describe by our pageant posing guide.
  • Hosts should favor placing only the very best entries, even if that means there are multiple entered by the same person.
  • Elite pageant themes may not request anything goes or wildcard poses. However, you can request nonstandard poses such as 0 face, squishy smile, eyeroll, etc.
  • Since there are no stand-ins allowed, elite pageant themes may not request something a member may be ineligible for (for example, an elite pageant shouldn't be "boys only" or "animal babyz only" unless there is a permitted alternative such as a theme-appropriate outfit).

Irregular Pageant Formats

Standard, advanced, and elite pageants are the most common type of pageant you will see, however there are a few irregular types of pageants as well. Typically you must seek permission to host irregular pageant formats such as these, and some are only able to be hosted by staff.

Large Pageant

A standard pageant that receives 20+ entries on purpose (as in, indicated in the first post as a large pageant) may award double points to winners. You must have admin permission to host a large pageant. If your standard pageant receives 25+ entries without meaning to, you may place twelve babyz instead of eight at regular point values.

Round/Elimination Pageant

A pageant with multiple rounds where entries are voted on by poll and the babyz with the lowest number of votes get eliminated. You must have admin permission to host a round/elimination pageant.

BOTB Pageant

BOTB stands for "Battle of the Babyz" and is a pageant in which two babyz are entered and face off in a head to head challenge. The winner is voted by poll and earns 25 BCRS points. Only staff may host a BOTB at this time. No stand-ins are allowed in BOTB.

Quick Pageant

A first-come, first-serve pageant in which the first five babyz entered earn placements in order of entry. Only staff may host quick pageants.

Pageant Placements

All pageants must follow the BCRS ranking system. The proper amount of babyz should be placed in all pageants unless there are not enough entries after three weeks' time.
