Introduction

Pageants are a longtime BC tradition, existing almost since the dawn of the community itself. Essentially, members enter a photo of their baby in a pageant and the person who hosted the pageant will judge it, ranking the photos in order of cuteness or how well they suit the pageant theme, and give placements. The higher your baby places, the more points they receive.

As your baby earns more points from placing in pageants, they will rise up the rankings and earn titles along the way. When your baby reaches 1000 points or higher, they will retire with all of the honors they received. If they are the highest earners in the month or year, they can earn an extra special exclusive title, such as Mr/Miss January 2022 or even Mr/Miss BCRS!

All BCRS-supported pageants and enrollments take place on either Milk or Milk Discord.

Entering

Pageant Entry Guidelines

• Baby's name and BCRS suffix must be included with each entry.
• All photos must be in PNG format only, no BMPs or JPGs. (If a non-PNG is entered, that entry should be skipped over.)
• No toys or other babyz in the photo.
• No edited photos, with the exception of correcting skintone in clothing and cropping toys/babyz out.
• All photos should follow the pageant theme, format, and standards.
• When entering higher-level pageants, please be mindful of the gem minimum for entering.

Multiple Entries & Stand-ins

• You may only enter as many babyz as you have currently enrolled in BCRS.
• After retiring your first baby, you must enter at least two babyz in every pageant, unless you only have one baby eligible for that theme or format.
• Stand-ins (the term for an unenrolled baby entered in place of an enrolled baby) for BCRS babyz are allowed in standard format only and should be used only when you dpn't have a reigstered BCRS baby that is eligible for the theme.
• Currently-enrolled BCRS babyz may not be used as stand-ins for each other. If you are entering a BCRS baby, they can only earn points for themselves.

Hosting

Posting Pageants

• Please ensure your pageants are hosted and judged in accordance with BCRS rules and standards.
• You may only have a maximum of 3 pageants open at any given time. You can host more than 3 pageants in a month, but you have to wait until one of your current 3 are judged before opening a new one.
• Pageants that have not been judged within 30 days will be considered abandoned by the host and will be judged by a staff member.
• If you host and judge 3+ pageants in a month, you will qualify for our pageant host bonus! If you successfully earn the bonus, your active enrolled babyz that month will each get 25 bonus points at the monthly update.

Judging Pageants

• Unlike Petz shows, Babyz pageants are not EBW; no matter how many babyz are entered, only 8 (or 5, in an elite pageant) may win.
• You may close your pageant for judging by labeling your pageant thread title with "judging", however once it is closed, you must judge the pageant within 24 hours or it will be reopened by staff.
• Do not save entries until after your pageant is closed for judging, as people will often swap entries out if they get a better photo or a baby retires before the pageant is judged and you may end up placing the wrong photos.
• Post the points for your judged pageant in the current BCRS points thread (pinned to the top of the pageant board on Milk) immediately after judging your pageant. Any points not posted in the points thread will not be counted.
• Make sure you have double checked that all details are correct before posting points, including points posting format, names spelled correctly, correct suffixes, etc.
