DOUBLE DUTCH

a spunky pair of addball french/dutch braids inspired by my own hair in real life and also a very cute new hairstyle in the sims 4.

BRAIDED PUFFS

the bc is really lacking in hairstyles for darker skinned babyz so i wanted to try my hand at some cute afro puffs! they are slightly modeled after the ones in animal crossing plus a million real life reference photos haha. my favorite thing to do with them is stick stuff in them for decoration cause they look so cute that way!

BOTANICAL BRAIDS

i based this hairstyle (and the baby wearing it) on this gorgeous drawing i found by one of my now favorite artists, geneva benton (gdbee). it was my first time ever trying something like this (i'm pretty sure i didn't even have a cornrow style back in the day cause i was too lazy to do all those addballs rofl) so it was a little bit out of my comfort zone but i'm so glad i tried it! it was definitely a challenge to make it look both modern and realistic but i think i managed? :3

TULIPTAILS

the idea for this style literally just came to me while i was looking at the non-ponytailed side of my tied-up tresses style. i realized that the shape of it made a perfect little base to stick some pigtails onto, and a few hours later, the tuliptails were born!

TINK'S TRIM/PAN'S PUFF

i was inspired to try my hand at a pixie cut sort of style, with the idea that a super short-haired girl would make a great clothes model. after i created the base, it sort of took on a life of its own as i realized it also worked with pigtails and buns, bangs for other styles, and for boys along with a shaved sides version.

SALTWATER STRANDS (LILO HAIR)

hexed during disney week at milk to resemble lilo from lilo and stitch. i was inspired to hex lilo's hair because there are way fewer straight hairstyles in the BC than curly and i wanted to challenge myself to hex something different than what i normally make! since then i have experimented with several different bangs/front strands for it as shown above.

HOT FUDGE SUNDAE

a bigger version of my single scoop bun with a pretty braid wrapped around it!

HERMIONE'S HAIRCUT

a short, curly bob largely inspired by a cute pixel i found.

TIDY HEIDI

this was a really exciting innovention for me at the time-- braids that actually have a braided texture! this was made before bmp hairstyles were as much of a thing so it felt like a big deal!

LOVELY LOCKS

this hairstyle was partially based on a drawn hairstyle request made at milk, but based more on my own drawing of a cute idea for long, flowing hair that wouldn't be too linez-heavy! in my head i also call them "waterfall locks" because of how flowy they are.

TIED-UP TRESSES

a modified version of my princess tresses, based on the fact that princess tresses was originally going to be a lower pigtails style. i ended up liking the single pigtail version best.

SINGLE SCOOP

just your basic messy bun style! hexed from my double dollops.

DAPPER DANDY

my second boy style ever and i'm still so proud of it! i drew it beforehand based on a picture i found. the picture i was copying looks quite liam hemsworth-y while the end result i think came out more one direction-y. i really like it though!

SOFTSERVE CURLS

so the idea of this hairstyle is like an over-one-shoulder, flowing lock of hair wrapping around itself gracefully. i'm not sure the idea translated to babyz that well but i like how it came out nonetheless! this was another style that i drew before i hexed it, and it was also originally based on a subeta hairstyle. softserve curls looks best with a crown of some sort (or hexed hair accessories) since it's hexed to be quite plain on top for that reason.

BABY BEDHEAD

i lost the description for this hairstyle but i remember that i based it on the character julia from under the dome!

POPSTAR PIGTAILS

the hairstyle that got me out of a phase of extreme hexing unmotivation-- i didn't cut corners with it anywhere and was really proud of it. based on a subeta hairstyle as well as being a semi-tribute to the "pushed back pigtails" of the pre-linez bc era, which was one of my absolute favorite styles back then.

MESSY ON PURPOSE BRAIDS

after a bit of a hiatus, i decided one night to throw together a slightly updated version of my messy pigtails, partly because i'd been wanting a nice braided hairstyle and partly because i was wearing that exact style in my own hair that day. i drew what i wanted over a picture of the pigtails first and it came out exactly as I wanted it to!

DRESSY BESSIE

a pretty, flowy back ponytail was something i had wanted to hex literally for years, and i finally did it! the darker bit at the top is meant to be one of those pulled-back bangs/puffs of hair that was in style then, which i used to do all the time with my hair at the time. this is another one that I made a drawing for first, although the top bit ended up being quite different than i had originally intended.

MESSY ON PURPOSE PIGTAILS

this hairstyle was originally based on an eLouai hairstyle that i thought would be really cute on babyz. since my previous style had come out so successfully, i decided to draw what i wanted in photoshop again first and then use that as a model. this one took ages but i still really love how it came out.

RAPUNZEL IN PIGTAILS

after more than a year since i'd last hexed anything new, i decided to try my hand at a more shapely pigtail style, modeled after a drawing i had done in photoshop using a photo of my baby Sakura as a base. This was the product of basically an entire day's worth of hexing, and it is still one of my favorite styles.
