Welcome to Babyz.org, a fansite dedicated to .
Babyz is a PC game originally released in 1999, so it may be surprising to find out that it still works on modern computers, thanks to some helpful innovations from members of our community! This guide will help you in downloading the game and installing all the bits and bobs to make it work properly.
Installing Babyz
This is a "portable" version of the game, so there is no need to actually install it. After using the above link to download Babyz, you can simply place the entire Babyz download folder wherever you'd prefer to keep it and it will run. Your Documents folder is a great place for it!
When you open the game for the first time, a box will pop up asking for a serial code. In Babyz, the game's serial codes actually correspond directly to the first baby that you get in the game. Each code is formulated to generate a specific baby. The serial codes, of course, used to come individually with the physical games, but these days we have a convenient spreadsheet of codes made by one of our members. Babyz codes can be used as many times as you want, so you can just find one there that appeals to you and paste it in!
Alternatively, if you have found a downloadable baby or adopted one from Milk, you can place the .baby file straight into your "Adopted Babyz" folder inside your babyz download folder and they will be in the game when you open it.
Installing Petza
Before running Babyz, it is recommended to install Petza, which is a Babyz mod originally created by Nicholas Sherlock with some fixes to help the game run well on modern computers as well as add a few quality of life fixes.
Once downloaded, place the Petza.toy file in your Toyz folder, located at Babyz > Resource > Toyz.
In 2024, Prism Mirror Lens bestowed us with a further-modded version of Petza which includes some larger quality of life fixes by request from members of the community. Some added features include the option for transparent backgrounds on babyz photos for easier editing, an update to allow textured irises for fun hexed eyes, and also some toggles to turn off babyz standing and using their diaper to make pageant photo sessions a bit easier, among other things.
If you would like to download Prism's updated Petza, please visit this site. Be sure to install original Petza first before overwriting it with Prism's version.
Installing ViaVoice
IBM ViaVoice is included with Babyz and you can use it to talk to and interact with them using your voice! This is a neat technology, as you can use it to teach your babyz words, read to them from the books in the nursery, praise and discipline them, and more. The most common use for ViaVoice on Milk is to encourage Babyz to pose for pageants! By default, Babyz will not pose properly unless they can hear sound from ViaVoice.
If you are interested in using the voice features of Babyz, you can install ViaVoice using the ViaVoiceFamilyModel.exe setup file in your main Babyz directory.
If you experience a problem trying to install or use ViaVoice, you can check out the ViaVoice troubleshooting section on the Help & Troubleshooting page.
